Pestilence welcomes Calin Paraschiv!

Posted by on Nov 14, 2017 in News

Due to personal circumstances guitarist extraordinaire Santiago Dobles (Aghora, Cynic) will not participate in future live-performances with/for Pestilence. Santiago’s latest contribution are some excellent solo’s on Pestilence’s upcoming album “Hadeon” (coming in March 2018). For now this ends Santiago’s involvement in Pestilence, but we would not be surprised if he will be a guest on any future recording.

So Pestilence welcomes Calin Paraschiv as their new guitarist. Calin hails from Rumania, and plays in another project (Necrovile) with current Pestilence drummer Septimiu Harsan. He is not a starting musician, but someone who knows the drill for the last 25 years.

Patrick Mameli on Calin: “Calin is the right man for the job, a skilled and professional guitarist ready to tour across the world. Rehearsing together with Septimiu is a big plus, so the choice was an easy one to make”.

This means Pestilence is more than ever ready to tour. 2018 will start off in the end of January with a 30 days+ old school set, under the appropriate name “Fight The Plague” tour.

Cover artwork for Hadeon

Posted by on Oct 19, 2017 in News

In March 2018 Dutch Death Metal legends Pestilence will release their new album “Hadeon”. Futuristic cover artwork presented to the Metal community!

Following up the re-issues of the classic Roadrunner albums on deluxe 2-CD and high quality LP (available here), Pestilence is preparing for worldwide domination in 2018.

Aside from intensive touring around the globe the main focus will be on the 8th studio-album since they started in 1986. “Hadeon” is an all out Death Metal attack, in 13 tracks, combining Pestilence’s old school roots, their progressive trade-mark and a killer production, which will appeal to both old and new fans.

The fitting album artwork is created by Santiago Jaramillo from Triple Seis Design (Lock Up, Dying Fetus, Inquisition). The concept is based on a multi-layered reality, alien presence and negative frequencies.

Be prepared for “Hadeon” coming March 2018.

Patrick Mameli Announces New Death Jazz Fusion Project Necromorph!

Posted by on Jul 2, 2014 in News

Main-man Patrick Mameli has announced that he’s taking a break from Pestilence to begin work on a new death jazz fusion project (featuring all new and original members) under the title NECROMORPH! Mameli hints with strong excitement towards his experimentations into “death jazz fusion”, by opting to put down the eight-string and get reacquainted with his six-string Steinberger once more.

Not dissimilar to the jazz fusion elements found on “Spheres”, but combined with the modern Pestilence riffing attack, NECROMORPH is set to blast past all expectations and shatter the eardrums of those thinking just another straight forward “jazzy progressive metal” album is on its way; “Again, it’s similar to jazz fusion“, says Mameli, “But these riffs and songs will be more brutal than Pestilence…but way different than Pestilence!

Mameli speaks of early ideas regarding Georg Majer on bass, but hasn’t hinted towards filling out the lineup with anyone else as of yet. Stay tuned for more news and pictures to come on the newly-unleashed jazz fusion metal monster that is NECROMORPH!
